On Saturday I went to the Network Vineyard Church in Birmingham for the Heart & Skills event they were running. Nick Sutton from the Coventry Vineyard opened the morning after worship led by Trent by looking at our Hearts as we lead worship and reminded us all that worship is about us giving to God and not about what we get out of it.

Practical workshops followed covering everything from bass guitar, keys and song selection to sound checking and PA basics; there was something for almost everyone.

The day ended with another time of worship - this time a cappella with everyone lifting their voices in worship, the sound was amazing.

Thanks to the people at Kall Kwick here in Hull we now have stock of the Great Big God Piano Songbook with all the correct pages in the right order. (see what went wrong here)

It will be going in the post today to all of you that pre-ordered a copy, and replacement copies to everyone who we sent editions with the bad pages in too.

Last week our lovely new Great Big God Songbooks arrived. Today I found out that I had put 2 pages in the wrong place (one of our eagle eyed customers called to let us know). Our very nice printers have got the books back now and are working on printing the new pages and swapping the pages over so that its all in the right order. This should be done by early next week.

So for the moment we are not sending any books out. I spent this morning calling those of you who have bought a copy through our web-site and thank you all for being so nice about it. If you have bought one at an event please give me a call (I'm Dave) on 0870 1200 553.

Rachelle who transcribed the book for us had this little line in her email signature - feels awfully appropriate right now. "Taking responsibility for mistakes is more important than taking credit for successes."

It arrived today. The new Great Big God songbook is currently sitting in our shipping room waiting to be sent to all of you that preordered a copy.

Kelvin Hall School in Hull have raised a whopping £1200 towards orphanages in Ukraine.

Following their involvement in ministering in Ukraine, VRUK staff have been into several Hull schools over the past year to raise awareness amongst students of the high level of orphans in Ukraine and the conditions they live in. Several schools have donated clothing, shoes and toys and Kelvin Hall raised funds through a non-uniform day and end-of-term show.

The monies raised will go towards medical, educational and sports equipment.

VRUK has been partnering with several Vineyard churches in Ukraine over the past 2 years doing church leadership training and looking at ways to support the many under-funded and under-resourced orphanages. This includes raising awareness in the UK of the plight of Ukranian orphans and helping to fund and equip the orphanages.
